ITINERARY:
NOTE: Your trip starts in the town of “Lago Agrio”
Quito – Lago Agrio. If you are in Quito, flight 35 minutes or take bus ride the night before for 7 hours until getting the town of “Lago Agrio”.
Day 1- Lago Agrio - El Puente. From Lago Agrio at 9:30am drive two hours to “el Puente”in a private car (the bridge) which is the door to the jungle. Once here take your provided box lunch and prepare for a canoe tripfor 4 hours down the Cuyabeno River to the lodge. Once you get the lodge and after having a delicious dinner take an exciting night walk with one of our local native guides. Then you can enjoy the noise of the jungle and the quietness of the place.
Day 2.- Cuyabeno River. After Breakfast, take some Spanish lessons before visiting a local community where we´ll see traditional type of life and have lunch. In the afternoon we´ll do Piranha fishing then we´ll go back to the lodge; Here we`ll have a relaxing time to swim and also we´ll enjoy the sunset on the magnificent “Laguna Grande”. Enjoy the noise of the jungle and the quietness of the place.
Day 3.- Indian Comunity . After breakfast walk to the Tarapuy Siona Community with one of our naturalist guide who will explain all about the culture and traditions of its people.
After having lunch we´ll hike in the primary forest including explanations about the use of medicinal plants which are very well used by the locals in the jungle.
When you get back to the lodge take some Spanish lessons and prepare for dinner. In the night after dinner there will be a canoe trip in search of caimans (alligators).
Day 4.- Swim and Spanishr. After or before Breakfast, take some Spanish lessons then visit another local community and know how they cook and live. In the afternoon go back to the lodge but before se flyers monkey. Take more Spanish lessons before dinner or have a relaxing swim in the river just there. Enjoy the noise of the jungle and the quietness of the place.
Day 5.- Bird watching . Early morning we’ll do bird watching. After Breakfast, journey up Cuyabeno river back to “el Puente”, Here we we´ll have lunch then we we´ll drive back to Lago Agrio for two hours.
In Lago Agrio: End of the trip.
Flight or bus ride back to Quito.- Optional
P.S. Excursions could change a bit depending on the weather in the jungle or on the time used for Spanish lessons, morning time or afternoon.
